Speedy trial demanded for harassment on DU campus

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Apr 19: The general students of Rajshahi University (RU) demanded immediate trial for the sexual harassers of women on Dhaka University campus, on Sunday.

Some female students of different department of the university, under the banner of "Anti-Sexual Harassment Students of RU", raised their voice from a human chain programme in front of the university administrative building at 10:00am.

Speakers at the human chain condemned the attack in front of the police and demanded exemplary punishment of the perpetrators.

They urged the Government to take necessary security measures for free movement of the women across the country.

Female students also shared their experiences of different types of sexual harassment they faced.

After the programme they brought out a rally from the place that terminated at the Shabash Bangla premises rounding the whole campus.

The students wrapped the eyes of the Shabash Bangla sculptures with black clothes as they ashamed at such kind of sexual assault.
