Stipends among Faridpur students distributed

FARIDPUR, May 24 (BSS): Overseas Employment and Expatriates Welfare Minister Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain today said the present government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has attached highest importance to education with the object of making an enlightened and developed Bangladesh.

The minister said this while distributing education stipend cheques of Faridpur Zila Parishad (FZP) among students at a function at local Kabi Jasimuddin Hall.

He said the government is going to make the highest allocation for the education sector in the coming national budget for development of education.

With chief executive officer of FZP Md. Mofazzel Hossain in the chair, the function was addressed by Dr. Habib-e-Millat MP, DC Sardar Sharafat Ali, Police Super Md. Jamil Hassan and FZP Administrator Kazi Zainul Abedin and Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Kh. Mohtesham Hossain Babor.

On the occasion, the FZP gave Tk 1.5 million (15 lakh) among 370 meritorious students of SSC and HSC levels.
