Storm affected families get CI sheet, cash in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, June 21 (BSS): A total of 100 storm affected families of Gobindaganj upazila in the district got 100 bundle of corrugated iron (CI) sheet and cash Tk 0.3 million (3 lakh) from the government on Saturday.

Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief of the government distributed the CI sheet and money among the affected families to help them build their houses, office sources said.

Principal Abul Kalam Azad MP formally handed over the CI sheet and money as the chief guest at a simple function arranged on the occasion at the upazila parishad hall room.

Each of the families received one bundle of CI sheet and cash Tk 3,000.

Speaking on the occasion, Abul Kalam Azad said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly after assuming to power for the welfare of the poor.

Acting upazila nirbahi officer Ruhul Amin, former upazila vice chairman Mohammad Hossain Faku, political leaders, public representatives and journalists were present on the occasion.
