Stranded situation of enclave people comes to an end

NILPHAMARI, June 10: The national flag of Bangladesh has already been hoisted in the homes of the inhabitants of all the 111 Indian lands encircled by Bangladesh territory, known as enclaves.
Bangladesh and India will start exchanging enclaves from July 31midnight which created ecstasy now erupted among the citizens of the enclaves. There are 162 enclaves out of which 111Indian enclaves in Bangladesh and 51Bangladeshi enclaves encircled by Indian territory.
Sources said more than 51000 people would finally end the stateless life, a status they have been suffering since 1947 following the Partition of the sub- continent between India and Pakistan.
The Land Boundary Agreement will enable them to enjoy schooling near their homes for the children, higher educational institutions nearby, connectivity with road and highways, access to banking transaction, electricity connection, right to cast vote to elect their local and national representatives, protection from lawlessness situation, existence of rule of law and so on.
