Student drowns in Jamalpur pond

JAMALPUR, May 15 (BSS): A 17-year old student has drowned in a pond while taking bath in Bakshiganj upazila of the district.

The victim is Rifat Miah (17), son of Abdul Halim Sarker, a resident in Dighar Par area of Sherpur Sadar upazila.

Police said Rifat Miah came to his elder brother's house in Bakshiganj upazila two days ago. He drowned in the Upazila Parishad pond while taking bath along with some of his friends around 12.30pm on Wednesday.
