A total of four persons were killed and 24 more injured in separate road accidents in Sylhet and Bogura districts on Wednesday, reports UNB.
In Sylhet, three people were killed and 20 more were injured as a motorcycle, a bus and two three-wheelers collided in a pile-up near Haripur Bazar in Sylhet's Jaintapur upazila on Wednesday.
Motorcycle rider Ataur Rahman Sunny, 30, and three-wheeler passengers Rokon Uddin, 45, and Tahmid Tasin, 10, died.
All bus passengers suffered injuries, police said.
According to passengers of the bus, the accident occurred at 4.30pm. The bus was heading to Jaflong from Sylhet.
Jaintapur Police officer-in-charge (OC) Golam Dastagir Ahmed confirmed that three people were killed in the accident.
He said the bus, motorcycle and two battery-powered three-wheelers have been handed over to the highway police. However, the driver and helper of the bus managed to escape.
In Bogura, a 45-year-old man was killed and four others were injured in Bogura district's Sherpur upazila Wednesday as two CNG-run autorickshaws collided head-on.
The deceased was identified as Yasin Ali, a construction worker and resident of village Omarpur of the district's Nandigram upazila.
The accident occurred at Darugram on the Sherpur-Nandigram Road at 10am, according to locals.
Two CNG-run autorickshaws collided head-on, leaving one passenger - Yasin Ali - dead on the spot and four others injured, Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Nandigram Police Station, said.
