JOYPURHAT, Aug 15 (BSS): Farmers of the district have already completed the transplantation of Aman paddy seedlings on 69,205 hectares of land in all five upazilas this season.
Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Rahela Parveen said the target of cultivation has been set at 69,850 hectares of land in the current 2024-25 Kharip-1 season , including 61,980 hectares of high yielding varieties, 7,525 hectares of hybrid varieties and 1,345 hectares of local varieties.
The rice production target has been set at about 0.3 million (three lakh) tonnes of rice.
