T-Aman cultivation plan taken up in C\\\'nawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, July 20 (BSS): Transplanted Aman cultivation plan has been taken up in the district this year.
Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) office of Chapainawabganj sources said a total of 47,419 hectares of land has been brought under T-Aman cultivation in the district this year with the production target of 1,22,167 metric tonnes of rice.
T-Aman would be cultivated on 8,150 hectares of land with the production target of 20,808 metric tonnes of rice in sadar upazila, 895 hectares with the production target of 2,428 metric tonnes in Shibganj upazila, 17,290 hectares with the production target of 43,412 metric tonnes in Gomostapur upazila, 17,138 hectares with the production target of 45,502 metric tonnes in Nachole upazila and 3,946 hectares with the production target of 10,017 metric tonnes in Bholahat upazila, the sources added.
Farmers have started planting seedlings on their crop-lands by this time with much enthusiasm. Meanwhile, seeds and fertilizer have been distributed among 1,665 poor farmers of the district as incentive for 800 bighas of T-Aman of High Yielding Variety (HYV) and 865 bighas of Nerica variety.
