T-Aman paddy harvest begins in Panchagarh

PANCHAGARH, Nov 12 (BSS): The harvesting of transplanted Aman paddy began in five upazilas of the district.
According to sources, harvesting of paddy began in the last week and till today 20 percent of paddy has already been harvested.
Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Panchagarh informed that T-Aman has been cultivated in a total of 81,000 hectares of land in the district this year with the production target of 3,22,000 metric tonnes of paddy.
Deputy Director of DAE Panchagarh Md. Nazrul Islam told BSS favourable climate condition, proper distribution of high quality seeds and timely supply of fertilizer and other agriculture inputs to the growers are the reasons behind the bumper production of the paddy in the current season.
Besides, different banks and NGOs, especially Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank and other Commercial Banks disbursed Agricultural loans on easy terms.
