Tangail farmers in for a bumper yield of mustard

TANGAIL, Dec 24: Farmers and the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Tangail are expecting a bumper mustard production during the current season due to a favourable weather condition and timely supply of necessary agri-inputs.
According to the DAE Tangail sources mustard has been cultivated on about 39876 hectares of land with a production target of a total of 45889 metric tonnes.
According to DAE Tangail sources the farmers of the district have cultivated Ubshi variety on 11730 hectares and local variety on 25126 hectares of land.  
Mustard grower Ajahar Ali (39) of village Kuchia Mari under sadar upazila Tangail told The Financial Express that he cultivated mustard on 3.5 bighas of his land and is expecting a bumper yield of the crop.
