TANGAIL, Aug 26 (BSS): A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a truck on the Dhaka-Tangail highway in Jokarchar area under ??Kalihati upazila of the district today.
The deceased was identified as Sajedul Islam, 45, son of Atatullah Fakir, resident of Shahapur area under Ishwardi upazila in Pabna district.
The accident occurred when Sajedul was going to Ishwardi upazila from Gazipur riding a motorcycle.
On the way, a bus hit the motorbike and the motorbike fell on the highway. At that time, a truck ran over the motorcycle from behind around 8:30am. leaving him dead on the spot, sub-inspector (SI) of Highway East Police Station Nazmul Islam said.
Police recovered the body from the spot, the SI said.
The body will be handed over to the family members after completing legal procedure, the SI added.
