Three killed, 10 injured in Pirganj road accident

RANGPUR, Jun 10 (BSS): Three persons were killed and 10 others injured in a road accident at Madarhat point on the Rangpur-Dhaka Highway under Pirganj upazila here in the wee hours of today, police sources said.
The deceased were driver of the coach Abul Hossain, 28, son of Halim Sheikh of Dondi village under Sadar upazila in Faridpur, its Supervisor Moksed Hossain, 25, son of Foyez Hossain of Nupur village under Sayestaganj upazila in Habiganj and passenger Ismail Hossain, 35, son of Momin Uddin of Nawabash village under Sadar upazila in Kuirgram.
Sergeant Abdul Gani, in-charge of Barodorga Highway Police Camp, said the accident occurred when a Pabna-bound paddy-laden truck hit a Dhaka-bound passengers' bus from behind at the point, leaving three persons dead on the spot and injuring 10 others.
Being informed, police from Barodorga Highway Police camp rushed to the spot, rescued the injured with the help of the locals and sent them to different hospitals.
Most of the wounded were released after providing primary aids. Police seized both the vehicles.
The dead bodies were handed over to their relatives this afternoon after completing necessary legal process.
A case was filed in this connection with Pirganj Police Station, Abdul Gani informed the national news agency.
