PABNA, Jan 12: At least 3 people were killed and 5 others injured after being hit by Koidanga railway bridge girder on the roof of a train under Bhangura Upazila in Pabna early Monday.
The deceased were identified as Matubbar Ali, 33, son of Mahatab Uddin, Saiful Islam, 32, son of Fatu and Ziaur Rahman, 35, son of Chanu of village Lohamari under Sibganj Upazila in Chapainwabganj district. All the dead were labourers. They were returning from Dhaka.
Officer-in-charges of Ishwardi, Bhangura and Chatmohar Railway police said the incident occurred at around 3.15am leaving 3 dead and 5 others injured.
Chatmohar Railway Station manager Md. Mohibul Islam said that the dead and the injured passengers were on to the roof of Nilphamari-bound 'Nilsagar Antanagar Express' train.
