Three people die in Joypurhat, B'baria road accidents

JOYPURHAT, Sept 28 (UNB): Two motorcyclists were killed and another was critically injured as a truck rammed their motorcycle on Joypurhat-Hili road in Shimultali area of Panchbini upazila on Thursday noon.

The deceased were identified as Omar Faruk Sohel, 26, son of Nurul Islam of TNT para in municipality area and Salman Shah, 27, son of Sanaullah of Fotehpur village in Ramganj upazila in Laxmipur district.

Farid Hossain, officer-in-charge of Panchbibi Police Station, said the Joypurhat-bound goods-laden truck hit the motorbike, leaving Sohel dead on the spot and two others critically injured.

The injured were rushed to Joypurhat Adhunik Hospital where doctors declared Salman dead.

Meanwhile, in Ashuganj, one was killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a Dhaka-bound bus of 'Uttara Paribahan' and a Sylhet-bound pick-up van coming from opposite direction in Baigor area of the upazila in Brahmanbaria.

The deceased were identified as Sohel Mia, 20, son of A. Zalil, hailing from Nalitabari upazila of Sherpur district.

Younus Mia, Officer-in-Charge of Khati hata Highway Police Station confirmed the incident and recovered the body and sent it to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
