A total of seven people killed in three road accidents in Savar, Noakhali and Sylhet, reports UNB.
In Savar, at least three people were killed and five others injured as a pick-up hit a truck on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway at Boliarpur early Monday.
The deceased were identified as Engineer Zahurul Islam, 55, of Mir Akhter Group, pick-up driver Khalilur Rahman and Nurunnabi.
Ajgar Ali, a sub-inspector of Savar Model Police Station, said the accident took place when the Dhaka-bound pick-up from Sirajganj hit the truck from behind leaving the three passengers of the van dead on the spot and five others injured.
On information, police recovered the bodies.
In Noakhali, at least three people, including a woman and her son, were killed following a head-on collision between a CNG run auto-rickshaw and a pick-van on the Noakhali-Feni Road in Senbagh upazila on Monday morning.
The deceased were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Abu Taher, 35 and Feroza Begum, 60 and her son Mohon, 35.
Mosleh Uddin, sub-inspector of Senbag Police Station, said the accident took place around 9:30am as the pick-up van collided with the auto-rickshaw, leaving the trio dead on the spot and three others injured.
In Sylhet, a private university staff was killed in a road accident at Shamimabad in the city on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Rustom Ali, 36, an office assistant of Leading University.
Akhtar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Shahporan (R) police station, said the accident took place around 10pm as the microbus hit him in front of Sonargaon Community Centre while he was crossing the road, leaving him dead on the spot.
