Three siblings die from toxic gas inhalation

KHAGRACHHARI, May 18 (BSS): Three brothers died after inhaling toxic gas in a septic tank at Manartek village under Mahalchhari upazila of the district last night.

The deceased are-Prodip Shashi Chakma, 42, a correspondent of daily Bhorer Kagoj and his two brothers Heventu Chakma, 35, and Uventu Chakma, 32, residents of the same area.

Prodip's wife Uzzal Chakma said Uventu fell down in the 15-feet deep tank breaking the concrete slab of the toilet around 12.00 midnight.

Prodip and Heventu went inside the septic tank for rescuing Uventu but unfortunately all of them became sick due to gas inhalation, Uzzal said.

Locals rushed them to Mahalchari Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared them dead.
