Three sisters drown in Padma

RAJSHAHI, Apr 21 (BSS): Three sisters drowned in the Padma river at the time of taking bath at Meergonj area under Bagha upazila of the district on Sunday last.
Mohsin Ali, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bagha Police told the journalists that the tragic incident occurred at about 12.30 noon.
Local people recovered the girls from water and sent them to the nearby Charghat Upazila Health Complex where the attending doctors declared them dead.
Quoting locals he said the deceased were identified as Zeem, 17, and her sister Esha Khatun, 9, daughters of Zillur Rahman, and their cousin Shipra Khatun, 12.
Zeem was a student of class eleven in Meergonj College while her sister Esha Khatun was studying at Bagha Government Primary School. Shipra Khatun was a six grade student of Meergonj Girls High School.
