MYMENSINGH, Nov 27 (UNB): A court here on Wednesday sentenced three people to death and five more to life term imprisonment for killing a man in Phulpur upazila in 2002.
The condemned convicts were identified as Askar Ali, Shahab Uddin and Tula Miah while the lifers were Rubel Miah, Abdus Sattar, Surujjaman, Abu Bakkar and Atab Uddin.
According to the prosecution, the convicts had chopped Abdul Halim to death over land-related dispute at Kashiganj in Phulpur upazilla on 27 May, 2002.
A case had been filed with Phulpur police station in this connection.
