KHULNA, Sept 23: Income tax of more than Tk 291million was collected in a weeklong Tax Fair-2014 that concluded at various tax zones of Khulna Division Monday. The highest taxpayers of the area are carew and Company, Khulna Development Authority (KDA), Khulna Shipyard Limited, West Zone Power Distribution Company and Hamco Corporation.
National Board of Revenue (NBR) organised the fair in the city including 9 districts of the division, like in other district/divisional cities in the country, aimed at inspiring the taxpayers in paying income tax, along with generating more new taxpayers, it was disclosed Income Tax Commissioner Golam Mostafa in a press briefing held at Kar Bhaban Khulna on Monday evening.
