Tk 6.1m looted cloth recovered in Pabna

PABNA, Apr 1: The detective police of Narsingdi recovered looted cloths worth about Tk 6.1 million (61 lakh) out of 30 million (3 crore) in Bhangur and Faridpur upazilas on Tuesday and Wednesday in Pabna.
A loaded truck full of cloths was looted from Baburhat at Sibpur upazila in Norsingdi district on March 8.
During the drive SI Abdul Gaffar of DB police in Narsingdi and ASI Newton of Sibpur police station in Narsingdi said a gang of robbers looted a huge cloth-loaded truck worth about Tk 30 million.
The owners of cloths informed the Sibpur police and a case was filed with Sibpur police station.
Following the case Sibpur Thana police in a drive to nab the robbers recovered the looted goods.
Police arrested 8 robbers from different places within 7 days.
The police recovered looted cloths worth about Tk 6.1 million from two cloth shops. Police arrested cloths traders Jahangir Alam and his brother Md Sweet.
Officer-in-charge of Bhangura police station Md Abu Bakar confirmed the incident and also said the drive is to continue to recover the looted cloths.
