Tk 924.33m BKB loan disbursed in Jhenidah

JHENIDAH, Feb 3: Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) Jhenidah region has disbursed a total amount of Tk 924.33 million in respect of crop loan, fish farming loan, farm loan and others, among 12787 loanees in the district in the first six months of the current fiscal year (FI) 2013-14 through its 15 branches, which was 71 per cent of their annual target.

During the same period in 2012 the bank disbursed Tk 629.865 million among 10678 loanees which was 48 per cent of their annual target.

Meanwhile, the bank recovered Tk 887.818 million from 12192 loanees and Tk 591.89 million from 10215 loanees in FI 2013-14 and FI 2012-13 respectively, which were 75 per cent and 66 per cent of their annual targets respectively.

The bank got a deposit balance of Tk 1263.601 million from 143078 persons and Tk 1039.47 million from 140175 persons in FI 2013-14 and FI 2012-13 respectively.

The bank also projected an increase in deposits by Tk 88.389 million and Tk 68.629 million in FI 2013-14 and FI 2012-13 respectively.

Gazi Monowar Hossain, Deputy Regional Manager (DGM), Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) Jhenidah region, informed The Financial Express that among all the regions of Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB), Jhenidah region achieved the highest position in terms of percentage of loan recovery and ranks as first in the region in this respect.
