GAIBANDHA, Aug 12 (BSS): A total of 19 trafficked victims of the district got assistance from an international organisation for their rehabilitation in society.
A simple function organised by Chhinnomul Mohila Samity (SMS) was held in its training room of the town recently under the Protecting Victims of Human Trafficking in Bangladesh project funded by Relief International Bangladesh.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) M. Abdus Samad addressed the function as the chief guest and District Women Affairs Officer Habiba Khatun and district correspondent of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha Sarker M. Shahiduzzaman were present as special guests.
With executive director of SMS Murshedur Rahman Khan in the chair, the function was also addressed, among others, by project coordinator ABM Masudunnabi, journalists Abu Jafor Sabu, and Harun-or-Rashid Badal and trafficked victim Golam Mostafa.
