Train ticket scalper jailed for three months

RANGPUR, July 16 (BSS): A mobile court has sentenced a youth to three-month jail term on charges of black-marketing and illegal sales of train tickets at Rangpur railway station here on Friday night.
The convict is Hridoy Mian, 22, of the Muslim Para area in Rangpur metropolis. Led by executive magistrate of Bangladesh Railway at its Lalmonirhat divisional office Purnendu Dev, the mobile court conducted a raid at Rangpur railway station and arrested the youth red-handed while black-marketing nine tickets from the spot.
Later, the mobile court sentenced Hridoy Mian to three-month jail term.
"Earlier, we had received complaints from local people and passengers about black-marketing of train tickets by the convict for a long time," the executive magistrate told reporters on the spot.
Such drives would continue and strict actions would be taken against those involved in black-marketing of train tickets, he added.
