TANGAIL, July 27: Transplantation of Aman seedlings is going on in full swing in 12 upazila of the district and it will continue till end of the next month.
Department of the Agricultural Extension (DAE), Tangail sources said a total 89774 hectares of land have been brought under T-Aman cultivation with the production of 224908 tonnes of paddy this year.
Of them 5200 hectares of land have been brought under T-Aman cultivation in Tangail sadar upazila, in Shakhipur upazila 14922 hectares, in Bashail upazila 722 hectares, in Mirzapur upazila 5870 hectares, in Kalihati upazila 8403 hectares, in Bhuapur 3893 hectares, in Delduar upazila 2503 hectares, in Modhupur upazila 11435 hectares, in Dhanbari upazila 9173 hectares, in Nagorpur upzila 1415 hectares, in Ghatail 16277 hectares, in Gopalpur 9961 hectares of land.
Visiting different areas of the district the FE found that the farmers are busy with T-Aman plantation. They are passing busy time preparing their land for transplanting Aman paddy with various agri-instruments.
To make the Aman cultivation success DAE, Tangail provided training among the farmers on using of Guti urea and insecticides. Bangladesh Krishi Bank and other government non-government organizations and NGOs have distributed short term loan among the farmers in the district. ripon.kazi@gmail.com
