Tree, agri-tech fair begins in Tangail

TANGAIL, Dec 7: A four-day long Tree and Agri-Technology fair 2014 began at Shaheed Smreety Pouro Uddyan Sunday. National Agri- Technology project (NATP) of Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Tangail arranged the fair.

The inaugural ceremony was held at local Shaheed Smreety Pouro Uddyan in the morning. Alhaj Sanower Hossain MP Tangail-5 inaugurated the fair as chief guest. On the occasion Deputy Commissioner Tangail Md. Mahbub Hossain, Police Super Tangail Saleh Md Tanvir and Deputy Director, DAE, Tangail Abul Hasim was present as special guests. The meeting was presided over by Chairman Upazila Parishad Tangail Advocate Khorshed Alam.

Nat'l electricity week

Another report from our correspondent says: A five-day long National Electricity Day 2014 observed Tangail Sunday and elsewhere in the country.

To observe the day, Power Development Board Tangail organised a rally and discussion meeting. The rally paraded through the main streets of the town. After the rally, a discussion meeting was held at PWDB auditorium. Alhaj Sanower Hossain, MP Tangail-5 was present in the meeting as chief guest. Police Super, Tangail Saleh Md Tanvir, ADC general, Tangail, Abu Saleh Md Mohiuddin Kha and Upazila Chairman Advocate Khorshed Alam were present as special guests.

The meeting was presided over by superintend Engineer Shahadat Hossain Khan Yousuf Jai.
