Two burnt alive in Khagrachhari

KHAGRACHHARI, Jun 30 (UNB): Two people, including a minor girl, was killed as a house caught fire at Moratila in Panchhari upazila on Sunday night.

The deceased were indentified as Shanti Rani Tripura, 48, wife of Ranjaniya Tripura and Uttari Tripura, 12, daughter of late Babu Ram Tripura.

Police said the fire originated from a kerosene lamp at the house of Shanti Rani around 11:00pm when the house inmates were asleep.

Among the five members of the family, three managed to get out of the house, while Shanti Rani and Utaari were burned to death, said Abdus Samad Moral, officer-in-charge of Panchhari Police Station.
