Two children drown in Jamalpur pond --

JAMALPUR, July 24 (BSS): Two minor children drowned in a pond of a village under Jamalpur Sadar Upazila here on Monday morning.

The victims were identified as Sukriya, 7, daughter of Saddam Hossain and Atiya, 7, daughter of Ershad Ali of Pingalhati village under Jamalpur Sadar Upazila.

According to the police, Sukriya and Atiya, are also cousin, drowned in the pond while playing near their houses around 11am. Local people took them to the Jamalpur General Hospital where the attending doctors declared them dead.
