MANIKGANJ, Sept 21 (UNB): Two children drowned in the Kaliganga River at Kandapouli in the municipality area on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Masum, 5, son of Abdur Rahman and his cousin Abu Bakkar, 3, son of Aminul Islam Biltu of the same village.
Family members said the two children went to play beside the Kaliganga River in the afternoon and drowned.
Family members rescued them and took to a hospital where doctors pronounced them dead, said Manikganj pourashava ward No 7 councillor Abdur Razzak.
