Two children hurt in Rajshahi bomb explosion



RAJSHAHI, Aug 12: Two children were injured in a bomb explosion at Tikapara under Boalia thana in Rajshahi on Monday afternoon.
The victims are identified as Md. Abdullah, 07, son of Alamgir Hossain and Md. Saba, 08, son of Md. Shahin in Tikapara area.
They were admitted to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) immediately.
Eyewitnesses and family members said that two children were playing in front of their house in Tikapara area of the city on Monday afternoon. Meanwhile, they found 10-12 cocktails abandoned in a pile of garbage. They then play with the cocktails thinking they are balls and explode, seriously injuring them.
Later BGB and Army personnel came and rescued them and sent them to the hospital and recovered 8-10 fresh cocktails from there.
Dr. Shankar Kumar Biswas, emergency department officer in charge, RMCH said that two children injured in the explosion have been admitted to ward number nine of the hospital. They have wounds on different parts of their bodies.
