Two get life for murder, rape in Satkhira

SATKHIRA, July 19 (BSS): Two people were awarded life-term imprisonment by the separate courts in two cases in the district on Thursday.

District and Session Judge Mohammad Alim Al Raji sentenced one Abdur Rahman (20) to life term imprisonment for killing a girl in 2022 in Kalaroa upazila.

According to the prosecution, on March 27 in 2022 the girl went missing from her village. On information, police recovered the body of the girl the next day. She was a student of class eight. Following the murder, the girl's mother filed a case on March 28 with the concerned thana.Besides, another court sentenced a man to life term imprisonment for raping a girl at Monipur village in Assasuni upazila in 2010.

Judge of Satkhira Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal MG Azam pronounced the verdict in absence of convict Rabiul Islam (35).
