CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Oct 9 (UNB)-Police arrested two people along with arms and bullets from Sonamasjid border area in Shibganj upazila on Wednesday.
The arrestees were identified as Sumon Ali, 32, of Chakdaultpur village and Mehedi Hasan,25, of Lagatpara village of the upazila.
Additional director of Borer Guard Bangladesh-9 Major Sheikh Md Mizanur Rahman said tipped off, a BGB team launched a drive in the area around 5 pm.
Sensing their presence, the duo tried to flee firing one round of bullet.
Later, the BGB men arrested them with the help of local people and recovered one pistol, three rounds of bullet and one magazine from their possession.
The arrestees were handed over to Shibganj thana police.
