Two held with Yaba tablets in Rangpur

RANGPUR, May 13 (BSS): Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-13) arrested two drug traffickers with 4,065 pieces of Yaba tablets from Baro Mirjapur village near Shothibari under Mithapukur upazila on Tuesday afternoon, RAB sources said here today.

The arrested are Kamal Hossain, 44, of Purbo Para Rail line area under Khan Jahan Ali Thana in Khulna and Khaleque Mahmud Shujan, 32,of village Baro Mirjapur under Mithapukur upazila in Rangpur.

Acting on a tip off, a special squad of RAB-13 from Rangpur Battalion Headquarters conducted a sudden raid there and started purchasing Yaba tablets from the drug traffickers in the guise of drug traders this noon.

The seized Yaba tablets are worth about Tk 1.2 million (12.19 lakh), ASP Rakibul Hassan Ibne Rahman of RAB-13 informed the media workers at a press briefing at its Battalion Headquarters in the city today.
