Two kids drown in Gaibandha pond

GAIBANDHA, Nov 16 (BSS): Two kids were drowned in a pond at Chandia village under Fulchhari upazila in the district here on Thursday noon.

The victims were identified as Miraz and Rokaiya. Their father's name is Ripon Ahmed Jhontu.

Family sources said the duos became traceless as family members were unaware of them.

Getting no whereabouts of them, family members started searching for them. At one stage, they found them in the pond and then rescued them in critical condition from the water body.

Later, Miraz and Rokaiya were sent to Gaibandha Sadar hospital where the on duty doctors declared her dead.

After the incident, a pal of gloom descended in the area over the tragic death of the kids in the pond.
