MYMENSINGH, May 24 (UNB): Two minor siblings were burnt to death at Bhaitkandi village in Phulpur upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased were identified as Suma Akter (7), and her sister Tamanna Akter (5), children of Mokhlesur Rahman.
Officer-in-charge of Phulpur Police Station Majharul Haque said the siblings met the tragic end of their lives when a fire broke out in their house at about 11:00 pm.
The children could not get out from the house as their mother Marufa went out of their house along with her another two children.
Local people doused the fire after two hours of frantic effort but failed to rescue the children.However, Mokhlesur, father of the children, was not at home during the fire incident.
