PANCHAGARH, May 28 (UNB): Two minor brothers drowned in the Karatoya River at Mareya Kawakhal Guchchhagram in Boda upazila on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Ripon, 6, and Rifat, 4, sons of Abdul Hakim of Kalonipara village in the upazila.
Chairman of Mareya union parishad Abu Ansar Md Rezaul Karim Shamim said Ripon and Rifat went to visit their maternal grandfather's house.
As no one was in the house, the two minor brothers went to the nearby river and drowned.
Later, local people spotted their floating bodies in the river in the afternoon and recovered those, said officer-in-charge of Boda Police Station AKM Nurul Islam.
