US State Department team visits Nilphamari Chamber

NILPHAMRI, Oct 21: A team comprising three members of US Department of State of U.S embassy visited Nilphamari Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) yesterday and on that occasion NCCI arranged a view exchange meeting with them. Held in the conference room of NCCI office building, the meeting was presided over by NCCI president Abdul Wahed Sarker and participated by the members of NCCI and some other local entrepreneurs and elite of the district.
The team of U.S Department of State led by Johanna Diaz wanted to know about the overall economy of the district including Monga and law and order situation. The participants in the meeting pointed out the prospects of agro- based industries in the district relating to ginger, potato and so on. Infrastructure situation including rail, road and electricity and connectivity with the neighbouring countries of India, Nepal and Bhutan including urgency of establishment of proposed landport at Chilahati were also discussed in the meeting.
