GAIBANDHA, Dec 29 (BSS): With the enhancing intensity of cold wave in the district warm clothes distribution has been strengthened to the cold victims of all the upazilas here in last few days.
Different social organizations including well off persons stood beside the cold hit people with the mentality to disburse warm clothes in a bid to mitigate their sufferings caused by cold wave side by side with government initiative.
On Sunday, a total of 600 blankets received from deputy speaker of the Bangladesh Parliament Advocate Fazle Rabbi Miah were distributed to the cold affected poor people of Bharatkhali union of Shaghata upazila.
Farhad Rabbi, vice principal of Bonarpara Degree College and younger brother of the deputy speaker, formally disbursed the blankets to the beneficiaries in a function held on the premises of Ullah Girls' High School on behalf of the deputy speaker.
