Warring clans\\\' clash hurts 50 in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ, Nov 15 (UNB): At least 50 people, including women and children, were injured in a clash between two warring influential clans over establishing supremacy at Charkoijhuri village in Shahjadpur upazila on Friday.
Quoting locals, police said the two powerful clans-'Khan' and 'Pramanik'-had been at loggerheads for long over establishing dominion in the locality.
As a sequel to the antagonism, people belonging to both the clans, equipped with homemade weapons, locked in a clash on Friday noon when a chase and counter-chase took place, leaving at least 50 of them injured.
The clashing people vandalised houses and felled 35 trees of their rivals during the incident.
On information, police rushed to the spot and fired 27 rounds of bullet to disperse the clashers.
