PABNA, July 11: Three days continuous downpour created a massive water logging here in Pabna BSCIC (Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation) area disrupting supply of goods from the key important industrial zone of the district.

"Most of the roads of factories in the BSCIC went under water due to continuous raining over last three days. The connecting roads of the BSCIC went under rain water due to poor drainage system," Alhaj Mosharaf Hossain, owner of Mukti rice mill in BSCIC said.

Most of the connecting roads in BSCIC industrial area damaged due to lack of repairing created massive water-logging. Heavy rainfall left the entire BSCIC area under water, said Johurul Islam, owner of Need Food products in BSCIC.

"We could not move goods-laden trucks to other places from the BSCIC due to water-logging. We are unable to bring inside the BSCIC for with the same reason which massively hampered production." Johurul said adding that at least 10 to 15 trucks loaded with goods supplied from the BSCIC everyday this time now failed to supply even 4 to 5 trucks a day.

Pabna BSCIC, located at the Chhatiani area of the district headquarter was established in 1962 acquiring 110 acres of land. About 15-acres of area has been added to it recently, according to Pabna BSCIC sources.
