JHENIDAH, Feb 27: A weeklong agriculture technology fair began on the premises of Jhenidah district Agriculture Extension Department (DAE) on Monday to create awareness and disseminate agricultural technologies among the farmers.
DAE, Jhenidah organised the programme with financial assistance from Mujibnagar Integrated Agriculture Development Project (MIADP).
Advocate Abdul Wahed Zoarder, administrator, Jhenidah Zila Parishad, opened the fair as chief guest with Jhenidah DC Md. Shafiqul Islam in the chair while Md. Golam Maruf, Deputy Project Director (DPD), MIADP, attended the function as special guest.
Mushroom, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), seed production and storage, dry seed bed, various maize-made food, instruments for fertiliser application, equipment for making Guti urea, seed-sowing equipment, different types of fruit trees etc. are on display at 23 stalls in the fair here.
Jhenidah DAE, two local NGOs - AID and Unnayan Dhara, one company CINZENTA, two private nurseries, Social Resource Development Institute (SRDI) and some other local entrepreneurs participated in the fair.
