RANGPUR, Mar 4 (BSS): Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) and valiant freedom fighter Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu has stressed the need for developing well-planned road communication networks in Rangpur city.
He said this while launching construction work of a new road through digging soil at a ceremony arranged in Barobari area under Ward No-14 in the city on Tuesday afternoon as the chief guest.
The Mayor launched the road construction work being implemented by the Local Government & Engineering Department (LGED) under the ongoing Sustainable Rural Infrastructure Improvement Project (SRIIP).
Councilors of RCC Raju Ahmmed and Fazle Elahi Fulu, its Superintending Engineer Emdad Hossain, Executive Engineer of LGED Akhter Hossain, Sadar Upazila Engineer Safiur Rahman, Joint Secretary of City Shop Owners' Association Moazzem Hossain Mithu, President of District Crockery Association Ali Hossain Mollah, contractors Abdur Rouf Ranga and Rahat Hossain Ronny were present on the occasion.
The Mayor directed the engineers, officials concerned and contractors for timely completion of the road construction work maintaining the best quality and transparency to improve communication networks in the city.
He said the infrastructural construction work of the roads, bridges, culverts, housing, sewerage systems and water and electricity supply lines are being done in the city as part of a long-term master plan.
He called upon the city dwellers to extend-their full cooperation in turning Rangpur into an eco-friendly and international standard modern city with excellent communication networks and eye-catching looks all-around
