CHANDPUR, Aug 19 (UNB): A newly-wed woman allegedly committed suicide at her father's residence at Nayergaon village in Matlab (South) upazila on Monday.
The victim was identified as Jyotee Begum, 19, wife of Ziaur Rahman of Nandikhola village in the same upazila.
Victim's family sources said Jyotee, who had got married 45 days ago, came to visit her father's house with her husband Ziaur a few days back.
Jyotee hanged herself from the ceiling of a room with a scarf in the morning.
On information, police recovered the hanging body and sent it to Chandpur General Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
