GAZIPUR, Oct 19 (UNB): A woman was hacked to death allegedly by her husband over a family feud in Mogorkhal area of the city on Sunday early morning.
Identified as Sharifa Begum Sumi, wife of Newaz Sharif, the deceased used to live in a rented house in the area and hailed from Tengurjani village of Gaibandha district.
Police said Newaz hacked Sumi with a sharp weapon after they had an altercation over a family feud in the morning around 7:00am, leaving Sumi dead on the spot.
Locals caught Newaz while fleeing and handed him over to police. Police also recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
