RAJSHAHI, Dec 3 (UNB): A woman was hacked to death allegedly by her co-wife at Nodakandar village in Bagmara upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Aleya Khatun Popy, 34, wife of Mahbubur Rahman of the village.
Police said two wives- Atarunnesa and Aleya Khatun Popy-of one Mahbubur Rahman at the village had often used to lock in altercation. As a sequel to the enmity, they again had an altercation in the morning.
At one stage, Atarunnesa attacked Popy from behind and hit her (Popy) in the neck and shoulder with hasua, leaving her dead on the spot.
