Woman killed by husband for dowry

NARAYANGANJ, Dec 15 (UNB): A female garment worker was strangulated to death allegedly by her husband in Bholail area of Fatullah upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Shraboni, 22, daughter of Faruk Miah, hailed from Jaypurhat.

Victim's family alleged that her husband Sumon used to torture her for dowry since their marriage eight months back.

On Sunday morning, Khadija went to the residence of the couple at Bholail and found the door locked.

On information, police went to the spot, broke the lock and recovered the body of Shraboni. Sumon went into hiding after the incident.
