Woman slaughtered in Khulna

KHULNA, Mar 24 (BSS): Criminals slaughtered a pregnant mother at village Hajigram under Dighalia Upazila in Khulna in the early hours today.

The deceased was identified as Nasima Begum, 35, mother of five children, wife of Tayeb Sarder, a day labourer in the Upazila. Nasima who was three months pregnant, asleep with her children at her thatched house at village Hazigram after taking meal last night, said Robiul Hossain, officer-in-charge of Dighalia Police Station.

She might have been slaughtered by criminals in any time last midnight, OC suspected. The reason behind the killing could not be known immediately.
