SYLHET, Feb 12 (UNB): A pregnant woman was chopped to death allegedly by her neighbour in Juri upazila of Moulvibazar district on Tuesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Sabitri Banerjee, 35, wife of Sagor Benerjee of Phultala tea garden area of the upazila.
Locals said an altercation ensued between Sabitri and her neighbour Kajol Banerjee over a trifling matter around 6:00pm.
At one stage, Kajol in a state of frenzy chopped Sabitri in the head with a sharp weapon, leaving her dead on the spot.
