JAMALPUR, Apr 27 (BSS): A good number of women of rural and urban areas of the district achieved self-reliance after getting training from the Department of Youth Development.
The women have taken short and long-term training on tailoring from the department. In the last two years about 170 women of the district have involved themselves with the business after getting training.
The women also have been playing important role in alleviating poverty and changing rural economy through the income generating activity during the past few years in the district.
Afsana, wife of Sajjad Hossain at Jangalpara village under Sadar upazila established a tailoring shop at his house and became self reliant. She earned Taka 400 to 500 per day after making ladies dresses.
"I received three months training from the Department of Youth Development and setting my business," she said.
