Worker electrocuted in Brahmanbaria

BRAHMANBARIA, Sept 11 (UNB): A worker was electrocuted while working in an under-construction mosque in Sadar upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Monday noon.

The deceased was Hafez Muzahidul Islam, 18, son of late Auli Miah of Uchaliaypara in Sarail upazila of the same district.

Co-workers said Muzahid came in contact with a live electric wire when he was going to the first floor of the under-construction Zila Model Mosque with a water pipe.

Injured Muzahid was first rushed to Brahmanbaria General Hospital and later, taken to a private hospital where physicians declared him dead, they said.

Md Aslam Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said that a police team was sent to the spot and an investigation is underway in this regard.
