NARAYANGANJ, Apr 23 (BSS): A hardware shop worker was stabbed to death and four others were injured during a theft at a house of Shibu Market Katherpool area under Fatulla upazila here in the early hours of today.
Police said the killed worker Shohag, 20, hailed from Chandpur district.
Police arrested two alleged thieves Insan, 22, and Saiful Islam Titu, 25, in connection with the murder.
Police said the tenant workers were sleeping in the room keeping open the door due to the ongoing heat wave. Sensing presence of the muggers they raised hue and cry and caught two of them. The thieves then stabbed the inmates indiscriminately with sharp weapons. Sohag received fatal injuries in the attack and died on way to hospital at 5am.
